The first generation in history to have the shortest lifespan than their elders. That’s what the world has done with its artificial foods and obesity inducing fast foods. It’s not just a decrease in lifespan. But also considerable brain degeneration problems which include difficulty in learning. Sugar, salt, additives are poisoning us and we are letting it happen.

Most of us are aware of the dangers of junk food. But in this fast-paced world, we need quick fixes and less effort. So pre-prepared, readymade, instant foods are a must.

Pizzas, burgers, hot dogs and caffeinated fizzy drinks are less in nutrient value.
We are addicted to these foods. And we are hooking our children to it too. Just the thought of McDonald’s fills our mind with happiness and starts the craving for it.

Highly flavored food works the same as drugs. “It changes our mood and it impacts the chemicals and neurotransmitters in the brain in a similar way to alcohol, nicotine, and cocaine.”

Dr. Susan Jebbs: ‘Children develop very strong learned preferences- junk food can become a psychological addiction.’
We, adults, have been conditioned to see certain foods as treats. We associate these foods with comfort, love, and reward. Therefore we try to introduce these ‘treats’ to our children. In honesty, children are happy no matter what they eat, be it milk or water. They are happy with wholesome foods if no one introduces them to unhealthy stuff.

But even if the parents forbid their kids from it, others might like to indulge the children with ‘treats’ and thrill of forbidden fruit makes it sweeter. On top of that commercials and TV have subliminal marketing so wherever the child goes, it’s impossible to keep him/her away from unhealthy food for long.
