Pimple Troubles? Find Relief In Nature\'s Lap


A skin condition that affects many people, acne or pimples are not a pleasing sight. They generally occur on the face, neck, back and shoulders. Mother nature provides a bounty of remedies to put those pimples in their place.

Here are some tips which you can try with ease at home.


Consume foods containing Vitamin A and Niacin(Vitamin B3) as they are very effective in the treatment of acne.


Include sources of zinc such as wheat germ, cashew nuts, pecan nuts and pine nuts in your diet. Crush these in a grinder, sprinkle on a salad and enjoy.

Orange face scrub

A face scrub made with orange peels and gram flour goes a long way in treating pimples.You can also crush the skin of an orange, mix it with water and apply on the affected areas.

Lemon juice

When applied regularly, the Vitamin C in lemon juice aids in reducing acne effectively. Lemon juice mixed with an equal amount of mint is also helpful.


​Rub raw garlic on acne daily to help clear them. Also raw garlic when eaten regularly for a month cleanses the blood and thus helps in reducing pimples. Garlic juice mixed with yogurt is another excellent home remedy.

Coriander and Mint

Wash your face well. Now add a pinch of turmeric to the juice of coriander and mint. Apply at night before sleep and wash it off in the morning.

Fenugreek leaf paste

Make a paste of fenugreek leaves. Spread it on your pimples and leave overnight. Wash it off in the morning. This has an added bonus of preventing blackheads too.


Another fine remedy is grated cucumber. Apply it on your face, leave for twenty minutes and then wash off.

Fuller’s earth (Multani mitti)

Fuller’s earth and a small quantity of apple cider vinegar can be used to make a face pack. Steam your face and apply the pack.


Cleansing the bowels with hot water enema helps in detoxifying the body thus reducing acne.

Anti-fungal oils

Clove oil, oregano oil, tea tree oil, etc have anti-fungal properties which fight bacterial infections thus minimizing acne.

Honey and oatmeal

Opt for a breakfast with honey and oatmeal as they are effective in treating acne.

Sandalwood powder and turmeric

Turmeric and sandalwood powder mixed with a little water is another sure shot way to get rid of pimples.

Cinnamon powder and honey

A teaspoon of cinnamon powder mixed with three tablespoons of honey can be applied overnight and thereafter washed with warm water. Try for two weeks and see the results yourself.

Nutmeg powder and milk

Grind some nutmeg and mix it with raw milk. Apply this paste to the affected area and wash off.
