A natural exfoliator, oatmeal helps in the removal of dead skin cells. Grind two tablespoons of oatmeal and add two teaspoons of fresh cream or honey to it. Mix well, apply on your knees and leave for a few minutes. Gently massage the knees using your fingertips and wash with cold water.
Baking soda is one great and handy home remedy to get rid of dark knees. Add a few drops of water to baking soda, apply on the knees and leave for five minutes. Now scrub your knees with wet hands for about ten minutes. Rinse well, pat dry and apply a moisturizer. This can be done every alternate day to get good results.
Take one tablespoon of powdered almonds and one teaspoon of finely powdered almond shells in a bowl. Add fresh cream to it and mix thoroughly. Spread this paste on your knees and massage for ten minutes. Rest for five minutes and wash with lukewarm water. Pat dry and moisturize.
Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
Warm a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil and apply it on your knees. Massage well and let the oil seep into your skin. Doing this before bedtime not only helps to get rid of dark knees but also softens the hard skin of the knees. Do this thrice a week if you are using olive oil and everyday if you prefer coconut oil.
Lemon is well known as a natural bleach as it aids in lightening dark skin. Rub a piece of lemon on your knees for ten minutes. Let it dry, wash with cold water and apply moisturizer. Doing this a few times everyday will bestow you with fairer knees.
