Job Description: Occupational Therapist (Pediatric)
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work with children requiring developmental and sensory support. The therapist will assess children’s needs, develop individualized therapy plans, conduct therapy sessions, and work closely with parents to ensure holistic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations and interact with parents to understand the child’s developmental concerns.
- Assess sensory, motor, cognitive, and functional abilities of children.
- Develop individualized short-term and long-term therapy goals.
- Plan and conduct occupational therapy sessions based on the child’s needs.
- Guide parents through therapy processes, home programs, and intervention strategies.
- Conduct monthly Parent-Therapist Meetings (PTMs) to explain progress and discuss future goals.
- Maintain detailed log sheets and session documentation for activities used during therapy.
- Monitor and track child progress through periodic evaluations.
- Prepare discharge summaries and reports whenever required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, behavioural therapists, psychologists, and special educators.
- Ensure therapy environment is safe, engaging, and child-friendly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT).
- Valid professional registration/license.
- Experience working with children with developmental delays, autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, or learning disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and counselling skills.
