Techniques for increasing control and maintaining attention
*Include Physical Activity: While doing work the child can get exercise breaks in which he/she can do jumping jacks or other physical activity for 15 minutes which may help an attention-challenged child to focus better.
*Fluctuate the time frames: If a child is unable to focus on tasks, increase physical activity tasks and decrease work time. Until you find the perfect work time for your child. Remember, children can concentrate on one task for two to five minutes per year old. For example, if you have a classroom of 6-year-olds, expect 12 to 30 minutes of attention for your students.
*Remove visual distractions: Declutter the workplace so as to remove any and all distractions. Keep minimal items in view.
*Memory games: can help increase attention. Memory card games or even electronic games can help. Simon says and other such games.
*Break tasks into pieces: Break the task into chunks. Children might enjoy this better than finishing a task in one go. They may try to do it faster too.

*One thing that needs to be addressed here is… inconsistency of children with attention problems is not evidence of a poor attitude or lack of motivation. It is a part of their biologically based attention dysfunction and is beyond their easy control. The child is not to be blamed.
