Avoidance Foods For A Hyperactive Child

Are you dealing with a hyperactive child? Did you know that certain foods can make your child’s ADHD symptoms worse? There are certain things you need to know to create a better ADHD diet.

Low levels of essential fatty acids have been associated with hyperactive children. Research shows that ADHD and omega-3 deficiency share two symptoms:

  1. Excessive thirst
  2. Increased need to urinate

The general dietary recommendations for children are to include fruits and vegetables, whole grains, bean, and lean meat. The fibre and high protein combo work better for them.

Ow, here comes a list of avoidance foods….

  1. Candy is loaded with sugar and artificial colours, a bad combination for children with ADHD. So, make sure you empty your candy jars today!
  2. Soda has high-fructose corn syrup and caffeine which worse the ADHD. Excessive sugar and caffeine intake both cause symptoms of hyperactivity and easy distractibility. Similarly, energy drinks have al these similar ingredients that get worsen the symptoms among teens.
  3. Some frozen brands contain artificial colours, which can exacerbate ADHD symptoms. Nowadays, many foods are treated with organophosphates that could cause similar neurological symptoms ad could worsen ADHD.

There could be other foods that are symptomatic for some, while other hyperactive children might not show any worsening symptoms. Hence, keep a check on what suits your child the best.
